Communications
Telephones
Few of our properties have telephones. Please confirm this when you book, and also if useage is restricted-usually to outgoing local and emergency calls-or if your damage deposit will also cover a telephone deposit.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phone coverage on the island is excellent but if you intend to use your mobile phone abroad, please ensure that it is registered for international use. Italy uses GSM 900/1800 which is compatible with the rest of Europe. If you are using a GSM phone it is worthwhile checking on rates prior with your service provider as local calls can be routed internationally. SIM cards can be purchased locally for your own mobile should you wish.
Payphones
You will find orange public payphones across the island, some accept coins, but the majority accept phonecards which can be purchased at post offices and tobacconists. Alternatively you can call from a cheap-call centre, usually found in the main towns which often also have internet and fax points.
