Communications
Telephones & Phonecards
Few of our properties have telephones. Please confirm this when you book, and also if usage is restricted-usually to outgoing local and emergency calls-or if your damage deposit will also cover a telephone deposit.
Most public telephones in Corsica require a telecarte, which can be purchased at Post Offices and supermarkets. Just follow the instructions on the card to make a call.
Fax
Local Post Offices are the best places for a swift faxing service. Expect to pay an international rate plus a service charge.
Mobile Phones
Most UK mobile phone networks provide coverage in Corsica, although you may have to contact your network direct to ensure your particular phone package is switched on.
Post Offices open Monday to Friday 9am to Noon and 2 or 2.30pm to 5pm, plus 9am to Noon on a Saturday. However, this can vary from town to town.
Internet Access
Internet usage is not widespread in Corsica so most properties will not have the relevant connections to use a home computer. Internet Cafes with reliable connections and reasonable rates are available across the island, but usually only found in bigger towns and resort areas.
